Krayzie Bone to Be Honored
Krayzie Bone, formerly of the Cleveland-based Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, will be awarded the lifetime achievement award during the Ohio Hip-Hop Awards later this month. Bone Thugs were the first hip hop act to put Cleveland on the national map and the group sold over 30,000,000 records over the course of their fifteen-plus year career.
“I feel that’s it’s important to support every musical movement that’s coming from your home state,” Krayzie Bone told AllHipHop. “For me to be receiving a lifetime achievement award is a blessing and an honor, and I’m proud to be from Ohio. I look forward to keeping Ohio at the forefront of the music industry in the years to come, and really opening up doors for other struggling artist out here that’s trying to be heard on a grander scale.”
“I have some very talented, up and coming artist from all over the world signed to my newly renamed label “The Life Ent” that are bound to hit the scene with a strong presence in the industry very soon,” Krayzie Bone. “I have also partnered up with Quincy “Big Heff Taylor to release the first volume of the “Cleveland is the City, Ohio is the State” mixtape that will showcase some of the rawest talent from Cleveland, as well as other parts of Ohio. If I know nothing else, I know music. I’m still here after 20 years and plan on being here another 20 years, so y’all can get to know me!”
