Nas Set To Release Memoir In 2012 + Jay-Z Covers “THE SOURCE” For The 10th Anniversary Of “The Blueprint”

Earlier today, rapper Nas announce plans to release a tell-all memoir about his ups-and-downs in the music industry in 2012.  Get the deets inside and see Jay-Z’s cover for “THE SOURCE” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Bueprint album.

HarperCollins announced earlier today that “Ether” rapper Nas might be spitting some ether in his tell-all memoir which drops in 2012.  It will be called It Ain’t Too Hard to Tell and will be co-written with music journalist and Toure.

And with Nas being so open lately (recently dishing on divorce and baby mamas) we might get all the hip-hop dirt on his breakup with The Firm, reuniting with AZ, and his legendary beef with Jay-Z.

Should be a page turner….

And on magazine racks……

“THE SOURCE” dedicates its cover for October 2011 issue (on stands Sept. 20) to the 10th anniversary of Jay-Z’sBlueprint disc.

In the mag’s feature piece written by Elliott Wilson, Jay-Z’s epic career is described like this:

“After his classic 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, ignited the streets, dazzled the critics, but didn’t move enough units, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter scrapped his bad marketing plan for a one-album discography and decided to drop a new masterful work each and every year. He emerged center stage with a fervent desire to be #1 in the post “Pac-Biggie” era. No MC ever wanted the throne as much as Hov. If consistency kills, he was the Son of Sam, and by the time he got to his sixth album, his frustrated competitors were firing shots back.”

Well said.

Speaking of Jay:

Mr. Carter was spotted at the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets game at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey yesterday where he tossed the ball around on the field before the game.
