Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, And Others Join Get Schooled Foundation’s Efforts

Celebrities and a non-profit organization are on a mission to help the alarm clock. The Get Schooled Foundation, a non-profit, is joining forces with U.S cities, including Seattle to record celebs making wake-up calls to students, The Seattle Times reports. The wake-up calls will reportedly ensure that students, across the country, get up in time for school.

The Get-Schooled Foundation told the Seattle Times that celebs, including Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa have already recorded messages. Students, in certain districts, can receive messages by simply signing up. Seattle wants 80 percent of its students to miss 10 or fewer days of school by 2013, the Seattle Times reported.

It’s all for a good cause too! Sources say that if middle and high school students who have less than 5 absences per semester will be rewarded with cool prizes such as bicycles and concert tickets. These are some pretty cool incentives for doing what you’re supposed to do if you ask me!

I imagine it  would be cool to have a celeb wake me up if I were a student. Do you think that celebs can help Seattle’s attendance problems?
