Wayne Sued Twice in One Week
Lil Wayne’s hit album Tha Carter III is at the center of yet another lawsuit. The rapper has been sued again for the second time in a week relating to unpaid royalties. Producers Play-N-Skillz have filed suit against Weezy in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
“Got Money” is the song this suit is centered on. Play-N-Skillz claim Wayne owes them $1 million for the 2008 hit.
The song was the third single from the album, which has sold over 2 million copies since its original release date.
Producer David Kirkwood filed a lawsuit against Young Money entertainment and Cash Money Records earlier this week, also claiming that the labels have failed to pay him royalties and production fees. Tha Carter III has been at the center of numerous production royalties disputes since its release. Play-N-Skillz had threatened litigation as far back as 2009.
